Smash Skates - A Brief History

The skateshop opened on 28th May 2005 in response to the growing number of skaters in this area. It fills the gap between Norwich and Ipswich, making it the nearest place to get skate stuff for people from Beccles, Lowestoft, Bungay, Halesworth, Loddon, Southwold and all the villages in between.

The main goal is, wherever possible, to support the British and European skate scene and also to stock quality local brands. If you are developing a brand around this area or nationwide then contact me.

My name is Ash Lever, I've been skating for about 8 years mostly in East Anglia though I also lived in the East Midlands and Germany for a while. My main motivation for opening the shop was my girlfriend who was totally fed up watching come home from my office job in a miserable mood. She practically forced me into my dream job so I am very very grateful to her.

Also would like to thank everyone who helped me turn this run down shell into a shop especially the Lever/Merrells families and my good friends Rob and Nina who all gave up their time to paint, lay carpet, build fancy display units and above all stop me from going insane!
